Astronomy & Photography Software

Tools for the whole imaging night, from following the telescope to deciding which frames to keep and sharing the result. Use each on its own, or combine them around a N.I.N.A. workflow.

Software sections

Follow the session

Chatstronomy

Image previews, autofocus curves, guiding graphs, and session updates in Discord or Matrix. Pair the N.I.N.A. plugin with the hosted Hub, or use your own local chat integration. Optional Discord commands use permissions set at the observatory.

AutoPierCam

Keep a view of the rig with background still capture from a ZWO ASI camera. The Windows tray app adapts exposure between day and night, manages uploads, and supplies a read-only pier-camera panel in N.I.N.A.

Review, solve, and stack

PSF Guard

Grade and organize FITS/XISF captures, match calibration libraries, and build resumable mono and color stacks. Use a standalone catalog or connect to N.I.N.A. Target Scheduler so grading decisions reach the sequencer.

Seiza desktop apps

Browse FITS and XISF folders, stretch previews, solve locally, and stack a capture folder as frames arrive. Star measurements and sensor-region diagrams help investigate changes in image quality across the field.

Plate solving in the browser

Upload an image to seiza.fyi for a plate solution and object overlay without installing an application. The open-source seiza-server supplies the web interface, queued solving, and downloadable WCS.

Build astronomy features into your own software

Seiza engine

A Rust engine for hinted and blind plate solving, calibration, batch and live stacking, and star measurements. The CLI, Python bindings, and native C API offer several ways to integrate it.

Seiza overlays

WCS coordinate grids, catalog labels, and satellite-track overlays for web applications, with a React SVG renderer and PNG export.

Publish the result

Tenrankai

The gallery and blog engine behind this site. A flat-file publishing workflow meets an image pipeline with HDR AVIF, color-managed resizing, watermarking, and Seiza-powered astronomical overlays.
