Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon), the standout comet of late 2025. Discovered in January 2025 by the Mount Lemmon Survey, it brightened far beyond predictions and became a naked-eye object in the October evening sky. This RGB capture is from October 20, 2025 โ€” right around its closest approach to Earth โ€” with the ion tail streaming away from the coma. No fixed coordinates for this one: it was moving fast enough between frames that the stars and comet have to be stacked separately.
