The Crescent Nebula in Cygnus, about 5,000 light-years away — a shell of gas thrown off by the Wolf-Rayet star WR 136 and now being slammed from behind by the star's own faster wind. The collision lights up the delicate blue-green OIII envelope that wraps the whole crescent like a soap bubble, floating over a field of red hydrogen. Rendered in a narrowband bicolor palette that keeps that OIII shell front and center. File dated August 7, 2025.
